The upper and lower falls are both beautiful. The hike to the lower falls is easy and isn't that much more difficult up to the upper falls. The trail and the viewing areas were quite crowded during the day. I would imaging going in the morning or evening would avoid some of the worst of this. more

Directly behind the Banff Springs Hotel the river flows over Bow Falls. Access is very easy as the base of the falls are right next to the car park. Here you can see the final cascade which is the most dramatic but for a view of the full falls you need to go to Surprise Corner on the other side... more
