I admit that being a Calgarian, I will go 2 or 3 years between going to the Stampede... because when I go there I want to take it all in. Lots of people love the midway, but I'm more partial to the music, exhibits, the rodeo (the chuckwagon races particularly) and the grandstand show (which is amazing)! It is not...

The Calgary Stampede is always a blast. There is an energetic crowd and things to do for the whole family. If you are an outdoorsy individual, you will respect the rodeo animals and riders in a whole different light. I enjoy going every year when possible but be aware! The prices are SUPER expensive. Not cheap by any means but there's nothing else really like it around.
A Canadian must see, but you need to go to the Coca Cola stage and the rodeo events.

The amusements are typical but the 'side shows/events are well run and very entertaining. All of the animal rights complaints should be ignored, it is first class. The...
