I used to live in Edmonton and I moved to Calgary 5 years ago. There is nothing that even comes close to the casual atmosphere and exciting nightlife of Whyte Ave. Calgary is a sleepy town compared to the fun of Whyte Ave. Go there for bar hopping - it's world class. The shops are great too but can be... more

From good shopping to great nightlife, Whyte Avenue offers a lot to everyone regardless of age or interest. From the family-friendly Old Strathcona Farmer's Market to 20-something oriented night clubs. Much of Whyte Avenue's entertainment can be attributed to the nearby university which complements its many poetry cafes and coffee bistros not to mention organic markets and quaint boutiques. You... more

I'm an Edmontonian and I would recommend going to Whyte Ave. It's really fun, and there is everything from unique vintage boutiques to a two story chapters with a star bucks. If you bring a teenager to Edmonton, then take them to Whyte Ave. once you've done West Ed. There's always something that will interest somone, and isn't as crowded... more

I intended to go to the West Edmonton Mall because I had never been and it is one of the biggest malls in the world, after all. When I mentioned my plans to the customs agent at entry, he warned me that it would... more

If you love going to the bar with some friends or older family people this is a great street to go to. If you are a more of a quite person and do not enjoy killings and violence do not go on this street during nights or if there are play-offs for any sport. The is a gathering center for... more

I live in Edmonton, so I know this is THE place to go. Honestly, unless you REALLY like The Gap, crowdedness, and Junior High students, this should rate way higher on your go-to list than the West Edmonton Mall. Small independent stores, trendy restaurants, and nice people will meet you there during the day (Make sure you're going down the... more

Whyte Avenue, in Edmonton, is a great neighbourhood filled with quirky little shops and great restuarants. Go during the day to shop for knick-knacks or clothing and return at night to sample some of the best nightlife the city has to offer. From local shops to big chain stores, this street has it all. It's easy to poke around and... more
