No longer the ancient (for Canada) fur-traders' site, this has lovely gardens, a quiet grove of trees, a cool pool, bike trails, a nearby greenhouse, a summer outdoor Shakespeare area, acres to walk, and a building design twinned all over the prairies, with golden stones, broad steps, and golden dome. This city was "Gateway to the Yukon" once. Now, Edmonton... More

It's great to visit out/indoors this characteristic old building which offers lots of history and landmarks of Edmonton city and Alberta province, in Canada. It's beautifully conserved and in good shape. Lots of visitors like me walk around, come in to learn and take pictures. Manay of my friends from AB had already suggested me to visit this Lagislature building.... More

This was the 2nd time we had brought our kids here. The guides are wonderful and make the tour very interesting for the children. This is a great way to spend an afternoon. More

One of the cliche but neatest places in Edmonton. scenic all year round, whether it's in December with the Christmas lights, carolers and free hot chocolate or in the summer when you can wade in the pools outside and see all the graduation and wedding ceremonies. A quiet place to relax and enjoy the city in the late afternoon, or... More

The "Ledge" is a summer hot spot favourite for everyone. Kids can have fun in the fountains in front of the ledge and you can picnic in the plaza area. The grounds are beautiful, close to Whyte Ave and the River Valley trails. In the winter time take time to walk around when the Christmas Lights are glowing or bring... More

We were wandering around when accidentally dropped in for a free guide tour that has just started. The guide was very knowledgeable and lively, and the history of the building was very interesting. I learnt a lot about the political system as well - it's amazing that you can go in any time to listen to the debates! More

As we visited Edmonton during winter our choices were limited but this huge building is definitely a highlight no matter the season. They run free tours every hour on the hour, just register inside the main doors & join the next one, be prepared for a security check of your bags etc. We were lucky enough to actually see the...
