A wonderful scenic trip from North Van to Whistler! Service from the start being welcomed by a bag piper was excellent! On board we took our seats and was served coffee then a nice boxed breakfast with yogurt/granola/fruit. The views for the whole trip where just awesome!! Be sure to walk to the observation car too! We travelled on the first train of the summer season on the Whistler route. Crossing the picket line of banner waving and chanting ex employees was a bit disconcerting at the start and end of our journeys. The weather was perfect and the scenery breathtaking. The guides/hosts were efficient and informative. We opted to stay overnight in Whistler before returning... More

Gold leaf - its worth the $'s. Everything was great. The scenery is so varied, the service wonderful. Great food, informative and interesting commentary. The bag handling is unbelievable. We did not touch our bags for the whole trip. We arrive at our hotel in Vancouver and they were there. All you do is back them and leave them each... More

My wife and I booked this as a retirement 'treat' for my wife in the UK and went Gold Leaf at an amazing addition to the cost - having now been on it, well worth the extra. We were treated like royalty from start (Banff) to finish (Vancouver). Gourmet breakfast, gourmet lunches, with an open bar and snacks in between,... More

The scenery was absolutely amazing! From Calgary to Vancouver I thought I would have been bored but found myself always with something to watch. One thing I was not prepared for was the 12 -14hr days, it's a really long time to sit in one seat! Accommodation in Kamloops was average, their restaurant was terrible! I think I was most... More

We just go off a 2 day trip from Calgary to Vancouver. Boarding was very early but seamless, the Silver service carriage was comfortable, the food was rubbish, US airline standard. The staff tried hard as they should have given they collected $1200 tip from the carriage for the two days however the staff member giving the constant commentary was... More

This was a once in a lifetime trip and although memorable I do have some reservations about the trip. I was situated high up on the Gold Leaf section but still could not get a good view some of the time due to the tall trees right next to the line. On a scenic rail trip I feel that some... More

I read some previous reviews regarding the dispute. I feel that it is a local issue and should not interfere with those of you who have booked or are thinking of booking for this trip. We experienced no inconvienence and were not aware of this dispute until the end of the trip, when we sighted a few demonstrators who merely... More

I booked a trip with Rocky Mountaineer for my tenth anniversary in March of 2011 from North Vancouver to Whistler, British Columbia. We booked a beautiful Hotel for two nights and were to take the train up to and back from Whistler. I've taken the Mountaineer up there before and it's a beautiful trip. When I arrive at the train...
