This home with its 29 rooms was amazing especially because you could go through it in almost its entirety and also had wonderful historical displays and commentary. More

This is a must see if you are in Victoria. A 20 minute walk from downtown and a worthwhile site to see. A piece of Victorian history, well maintained and beautiful. Great place to take pics as well. More

If you like historic buildings, this is a must. Allow at least one hour (or more) to do the castle justice. It's worth reading each of the placards in the various rooms to get sense for the history of this place. More

We enjoyed a tour of Victoria and decided to go back to the "castle" to visit. A reminder that there are over 87 stairs to climb in this museum and there are no elevators. It is not wheelchair accessible. It's actually a really big mansion built in the 1800's by a coal Baron who unfortunately never lived long enough to... More

Before you decide to go in, make sure you're ready to shell out $27 for an entrance fee. I've been around the world and have seen restored and homes and the like, but this one has its unique style of that Victorian era decadence! Most of the home has been restored and the wood, floors and furnishings are in excellen... More

As a history buff, I really like this place. You could easily spend 3hrs here and not realize it. The staff was friendly and informative. My wife and I took the self-guided tour and leisurely went about the place. Technically it's not a castle but it's so large that it takes quite a while to get through. There are quite... More

We enjoyed our visit to the castle. It's interesting to learn about its evolution over time and provides a good snap shot of Victoria and some of its rich and famous and development as well. We found that very educational. The furnishings and make-ups of the room are interesting to look at as well - but it's really if you... More

We paid a visit to the Castle on April 1st and thoroughly enjoyed our self guided tour. We were raised in the area and this was our first visit to the Castle and worth the time spent to see it. All of the Vollunteers working there were very friendly and knowledgable. If you like history and antiques this is a... More
