My friend and I went here for their afternoon tea and a walk-about in their museum. The tea was very good and the goodies were tasty. I called ahead to let them know I was gluten-intolerant and they had no trouble accommodating me with delicious homemade soup and an excellent choice of goodies. We arrived a little early but they... This was a spectacular place to visit, it was like stepping into a time machine and being whisked back in time. As you enter this Victorian home it like a time capsule of what life would have been. The home and the era is magnificently preserved and cared for, like a time capsule guarded for future generations. The most unique... More

You enter the beautifully restored garden, pass through the gift shop that resembles a carriage house, and enter another world. Although the City of Victoria and the working Harbour are not far away, the peacefulness envelops you. The original family who owned the home for three generations, sold the house and contents to the BC government and is now a... More

Well done audio tour of a historic property which is not as well known as Craigdarroch Castle but still a fascinating glimpse of Victorian era life. In the summer and at Christmas time they serve a delightful afternoon tea. The property is a bit run down and in need of repairs, but hopefully if they get more tourists visiting, it... More

Point Ellice House is a lovely Victorian home tucked away in an industrial quarter of Victoria. You could walk there from downtown without too much trouble, but we took one of the Harbour Ferry/Taxi tours, and got off at the Point Ellice House dock. The home is beautifully preserved, and and sits on an acre or two of land that... More
