Fantastic journey by Northern Expedition. Booked a ferry via internet (not a very friendly www). Money taken from the Visa immidiately. Couldn't find a hotel in Port Hardy and stayed in Port McNeill (1/2hour drive). It would be great if BC ferries helped with accomodation in Port Hardy. You have to be 2 hours prior to departure (5.30. am, as... more

Ferry from Nanaimo to Horseshoe Bay near Vancouver was excellent. The ferry is huge, we never felt any rough seas. The passenger decks are excellent with large comfortable seating. more

We took the ferry from Victoria to Vancouver. It was incredibly easy to load our car into the ferry and enjoy the 90 minute trip. We got there at the last minute and had no problems driving right on board the ship, it was very easy. There are lots of amenitites on the boat such as a good gift shop... more

Excellent way to travel. Book early! Arrive early and check luggage if you have it. They will keep your luggage while you tour for the day. Arrive at least 1.5 hours before boarding, otherwise you may have to stand in the rain or weather outside due to limited seating in the "holding area." Eat before you go, unless you have... more

In late October 2006 we spent a week on Vancouver Island and used the BC ferry route of Horseshoe Bay (North Vancouver) to Nanaimo. It was a safe and pleasant experience. We checked the website [----] for times, fares and information about the actual ships. The ferries on this route are large, clean, have ample seating areas inside and out,... more

Bc Ferries and The Clipper are as different as two ferries canbe. Bc Ferries are so well organized and the currant conditions on their website really makes it easy to know when to leave for the ferry. Side note on really busy days...fridays 3 or 5 or 7 sailings...sunday starting at the 1:00 saling ..BOOK reservations!!!!They are a god send.... more

I just had a look at the reviews for BC Ferries. I noticed couple of mistakes. First the Clipper from Seattle is run by Clipper navigation not BC Ferries. The ferry from Bellingham is run by Washington State Ferries. BC Ferries does not dock outside of British Columbia. I have traveled many times on the BC Ferry system. BC Ferries... more

They are super! Ontime, efficent, good food, lots to do in passage. Staff friendly and helpful. If you go to the Buffet, you get all you can eat and drink- non alcoholic- and you can stay there the whole trip and watch the sceanary(sp?), talk and enjoy nibbling. more

We flew from Chicago to Seattle and then took the Victoria Clipper over to Victoria Island. The ferry was really a hassel. Since it is general seating, people start lining up an hour and a half in advance. Once your on the ferry going there, it is a good three hour ride. If you are prone to motion sickness, I... more

We enjoyed our trip Victoria. We went on the Ferry from Bellingham, WA and enjoyed it very much. We stayed overnight in Victoria but wish we could have stayed longer. Also visited the Bushard (sp) Gardens near Vctoria. more
