The Bengal room had excellent drinks but was dirty and everything appeared tired and worn out. The service was excellent. More

We arrived at the spa for a nice relaxing time. The staff were warm and hospitable, and the entrance to the spa, well kept and fresh with that warm spa greeting of ambiance, great lighting and aromas. The facility, well, what can we say. Captivating. the nicely placed regal stairs entering the spa and the soothing roman fountain on the... More

We spent a couple of hours in the mid to late afternoon having high tea, its served with a wide variety of options. We loved the cakes and the endless supply of tea. A very british place 5000 miles from home. An excellent way to spend an afternoon. The staff were very friendly, the place is spotlessly clean. More

This is such a majestic hotel from the halcyon days of the Canadian Pacific Railway. I can recall seeing this hotel once on an episode of, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. Always wanted to visit it and was not disappointed. You are free to wander the hotel and the grounds around the building. There is a great old lounge... More

From the outside, the grand dame of Victoria hotels is still very impressive. It is certainly an equal architecturally with the Parliament buildings, across the road. Walk inside though at your own risk. High tea used to be very special. Now it is out in the open and when I was there, there were kids running through the front door... More

This is definitely the place to be if you are visiting Victoria. As close to feeling like you are in Europe without actually being there. While there, you must do the high tea, and tour the hotel. Our room was on the top floor and very unique in that it was circular. Beautiful view however was obstructed as they were... More

I went for a large dinner and dance. The food was served quickly and cleared efficiently. Dessert selection was vast and plentiful. The Empress does it right. The seasonal events are fun to attend as well. More

We visited the Empress Hotel and had High Tea. It was expensive but we enjoyed the experience. However, I drink black tea which I prefer very weak, but when our waiter advised us that we were given extra hot water as the tea would possibly be too strong, I chose to take milk in my tea. Big mistake, the tea... More

We actually did not stay in the hotel as guests but rather we came for their "High Tea". We made our reservations in advance (I highly recommend this and it's super easy) so we didn't have to wait to be seated. The tea room is very nice and our server was extremely helpful. He described to us all the different... More

My wife said that when in Rome...or in this case Victoria, we had to go and have high tea somewhere. We were told to visit the Empress and were suitably impressed with both the high tea and the gorgeous edifice that is the Empress Hotel More
