The tour we did with Prince of Whales was the highlight of our trip to Victoria, BC last summer. It was three hours of pure joy for me and my husband. We chose to take the open boat that looks like a raft, and we went out at around 4pm when it wasn't quite so busy on the water. This... More

From the moment we checked in until the moment we finished it was top notch all the way. We had a great time and it thoroughly exceeded any of our expectations Not only did we get to spend the majority of our time watching a local pod of resident whales swim but our guide took us to the end of... Experienced a fantastic time on this tour. We ended up spending 20 minutes watching the resident pod of killer whales swimming (there are over 80 whales in this pod) around in sleeping mode, with the mountains as a backdrop. Beautiful and spectacular! We also were lucky enough to see some shy porposies, two humpback whales (also in sleeping mode), a... More

This tour was fantastic! I chose a morning departure on a glorious sunny day, and I was not disappointed. The ride out was beautiful, and we saw so many whales. Some came up quite close to the boat. Excellent value for money! More

Whale watching trips aren't cheap, but this one was fantastic and well worth the money. We chose to go out on one of the faster Zodiac boats for a half-day trip; the ride out was great fun once the boat got up to speed, and we then saw a pod of killer whales (and being the first trip of the... We were whale watching in November so we expected it to be cold, and it was, but it was so worth it!! Our guide Mark was extremely knowledgeable and he knew exactly where to go to find whales, even though it wasn't peak season anymore. The day was beautiful. Sunny, calm waters, and chilly - but you get survivor suits... More

Went out today on the zodiac for a great trip. I have lived in Victoria for decades but have never gone whale watching. Saw lots of killer whales, both local and transient pods. A couple times the pod swam right towards the boat! Our guide was Mark who was knowledgeable and friendly and knew right where to go to see... More

Hello Marcspeed, I’m so pleased you chose Prince of Whales for your first whale watching experience! I love it when locals join us and we’re able to share this part of our community with them. I’ll pass on your praise to Mark – around the office we suspect he’s mastered his own version of echolocation as he always seems to... More

After a very long day trip from Vancouver to Victoria we were unfortunate enough not to see ANY whales at all. We understand that mother nature doesn't always cooperate, however we felt a little ripped off. Due to all of the positive marketing (including the line "you will be exhilarated on the brochure) and reviews we had heard of Prince... More
