Overall, we thought that Whistler Blackcomb was the nicest resort we've been to (and we've been to serveral in CA, CO, UT and the Northeast), in terms of development and people. Vail, Snowmass, Deer Valley - just to name a few - don't hold a candle to it in terms of the number and variety of shops, restaurants and hotels/condos... more

This gondola ride is a must if you visit the Whistler Blackcomb ski resort in British Columbia, Canada. Even if you don't ski or snowboard you can buy a sightseeing pass at Whistler Village and ride the gondolas for some pretty amazing panoramic views. The Peak 2 Peak gondola officially opened on December 12 2008. When you ride the enclosed... more

Hands down the best ski resort in the Americas. The snow may not be as light and dry or plentiful as in Utah, but W/B makes up for in in other ways. The biggest and most varied terrain in the US. Groomers, steeps, cliffs, bumps, glades, back country, terrain parks, couloirs or wide open bowls--you will find them all in... more

First time across the pond having skied many different European resorts and it was well worth the 10 hour flight! Mountain access from Whistler Village is very good with direct gondolas to both the Whistler & Blackcomb central terrain areas, or a chair linked to 2 further chairs to avoid the queues (mainly weekend or before 9.30). There are wide... more

I just came back from Whistler on 2/18/09 and its true that it is the biggest and most varied ski area. But, the snow qualitity was horrible, NO POWDER and lots of ICE PATCHES, and the mountain lacks identification/directional signs on the trails! It's very easy to go off track and end up on a trail that you dont want... more

We were in Whistler Jan 19-23. Overall, it was a great trip. Best ski resort in North America? Maybe. The place is huge with a wide variety of terrain. Lots of intermediate runs. We had lovely weather. There are many good food options on the mountain. Whistler village has plenty of things to do. Pricing is similar to other high... more

I have snowboarded europe and North America and Whistler is the best holiday experience that I have ever had. It has a special something. The ski conditions on the excellant mountains were not great when I went but this did not effect the overal experience. You get the best of all worlds. A small village type community like in Europe... more

We just returned from a week at Whistler Blackcomb! It was the first time for all four of us in our party. I have seen Whistler Blackcomb (WB) each year listed as the number one resort in North America in a number of categories. Everything from best slopes, best views, best nightlife - you name it. And the resort definitely... more

I have been skiing at Whistler since the mid sixties. Whistler has expanded greatly since then to include another mountain right beside it, Blackcomb, hence Whistler/Blackcomb Resort. This is one of the vastest ski areas in North America and it is definitely possible to ski some of the runs on each mountain in a day. "SOME" not all, that would... more
