Newfoundland has many dramatic aspects, and this coastal drive is another one. Beside the sea views there is an almost otherworldly (Hobbity?) mix of rugged granite and heath that grows flat and thick and intensely green. I really wanted to see this Lighthouse - we drove the 28 miles (45 Km) from Port Aux Basques through a slight mist / rain. This is an amazing place - if you're going to be in Port-aux-Basques, plan a side trip to Rose Blanche. It's about 45 minutes away, and well worth the drive.
