The art was varied and most interesting. We particularly enjoyed the traditional painting. The galleries were easy to access and the coffee shop / cafe was very good value. More

Great collections and a great way to spend an afternoon. I also manage to pick something up in the gift shop every time I visit. More

Superb permanent collection, and some really good temporary exhibitions. Deceptively small from the outside, it is actually HUGE. Very friendly curators and custodians. More

Two to three hours is exactly the right amount of time to get through this small and interesting collection right in the heart of downtown. A hodgepodge of folk art, modern art, Maritime, aboriginal.... name it. The cafe looked good and it was busy with locals and visitors. The shop was a little boring, I wished for more local art... Really enjoyed the modern art exhibit. Very cool. Also, managed to catch a sit-down chat with Lisa Lipton (artist) and see her exhibit. Totally worth it! More

There is a permanent exhibition of Maude Lewis, Nova Scotia's most famous primitive painter. Her tiny home, brought from its original site, with every possible surface painted, is my highlight. There are other permanent exhibits with Group of Seven paintings, local folk art and works by many world-renowned artists. World-class exhibits come to the gallery -- from Egyptian treasures, to...
