Gardens are very well maintained. Stepping through the gates is comparable to stepping back in time. The hustle and bustle of downtown Halifax cannot breach the walls of green. Visited for the first time on May long-weekend. It is a beautiful spot--an oasis really, as you don't even get the traffic noise. There were a number of trees in bloom (magnolia, rhododendron) and a number of flower beds are already planted. Lots of benches, but it's a bit depressing to see mothers and toddlers kicked off the grass. More

... to walk on the grass. As a park, it's pretty average and very, very small. The entrance gates are coo, though. More

I love that its a quiet little get away in the middle of the city. Well landscaped and cared for! I love to sit under a tree with a coffee from one of the local coffee shops that surround it and read a book. A must see when in Halifax. More

Spend some time in the Public Gardens... they're beautiful! Lots of opportunities for pretty pics. More

Well kept, simple and yet charming. Worth a stroll on a nice sunny day. If you want to get some ice cream or coffee, there is a little shop in the pavilion that is quite nice. I recommend the GrapeNut ice cream, apparently is a Halifax delicacy. More
