Husband, son 15, daughter 9 and myself went to the falls this summer. Although the falls are beautiful we were NOT impressed with the city of Niagara Falls at all. It was just another tourist trap! We had the most excellent time in Niagara Falls - Ontario It is definately worth the walk over the border (bridge) to the US side. The Cave Of The Winds walk is one of the best experiences of my life (US side only). The water comes down around you. The roar is amazing.. Couldnt get better photos..Kids loved it also.... more
You can not get from pictures the magnificance of the Falls. I stayed on the Canadian side and was able to see both falls easily. The Maid of the Mist is a must. The visit was more than I had hoped for. more
We had a 2 night stay in Niagara in September. We stayed at the Marriott Fallsview which was fantastic - unobstructed views of the falls from our room. Our children (aged 8, 6, 3, 1) all loved it - especially the Maid of the MIst. The Butterfly Conservatorium was also excellent. more
It was so much fun to walk on the wooden walkway and then get so close to the rushing water. I was stunned at how inexpensive it was. I really enjoyed the experience. more
If you are in Toronto and want to visit the falls, but not interested in the tour which goes to the wine tasting and Niagara on the lakes, then take the train. Trains run direct from Toronto to Niagara falls on weekend. On week days you have to get a coach from Burlington. The price is the same, around $31cad... more
We toured both sides of the falls. The Maid of the Mist Ride and Journey Behind the Falls on the Canadian side allow you to experience the power and force of the water rushing over the falls.
