We explored the islands ourselves since it was very windy and brisk fall day, but we were dressed appropriately so we were comfortable. There are beautiful bridges that you can walk over, lighted electric forest animal creations, ducks in the pond...a true haven for nature lovers!!!! Another added bonus== Parking is FREE more
I was impressed by this place and there is a lot of water here! We had a nice picnic at Dufferin park/island. I recommend you take children there and they can feed the ducks. We took a tour recommended by the hotel we stayed at but I would recommend that you do your own thing. I paid much more than... more
About a mile south and upstream of the Canadian falls off the Niagara Parkway lies Dufferin Islands park. Dump the kids off at the Waterpark or Madame Tussauds, grab a bottle of wine and a picnic lunch and bike, hike or drive (free parking) over here for a little slice of nature only a mile or so from the Starbucks... more
This park is incredible! We found this park accidentally whle trying to find a place to turn around. What an amazing bit of luck for us.
