I hope that this was the disappointment of our trip to Canada. The boat was noisy, the commentary truly dreadful and I couldn't wait to get off. Worst use of $21 that I could think of.

This must-see tour of the Ottawa river was an excellent value; roughly $20 for adults and free for children under 5. The tour is about 1.5 hours, and very nicely reviews the major buildings and landmarks along the Ottawa river (including some historical context).
The boat is double-decker, with a canopy covering the top level. This is a big plus...

$19 CAD for 1.25 hours was not only a bargain compared to other providers, Patrick - our tour guide constantly provided both information about the Rideau Canal and in a humorous manner switching back and forth between English and French.
