The Chocolate Museum is free, self guided and displays more than 200 artifacts and objects related to chocolate history. Most of the information displayed is translated in English. Two video are presented (Artisan Chocolate Making and the Industrial Chocolate Making Process, from the cocoa tree to the chocolate bar). Watch the chocolatiers at work through a window while you try one of our 10 renowned hot chocolates. In the boutique, the chocolate lovers will find a great variety of classic and audacious handmade chocolates (try the Biquette, a chocolate with goat cheese and Bartlett pear puree!). Indulge yourself with one of our chocolate pastries and during the summer, let yourself be tempted by one of the 70 homemade ice cream, sorbet, frozen yogourt and tofu offered! Érico is located in the Faubourg Saint-Jean Baptiste, a convivial part of the city, outside the touristic old walls, that is worth the visit. « less

If you want to incorporate some chocolate into yoru day, this is the place to go. It has a little museum part, they have a great variety of chocolates, some with very original flavours, the hot chocolate is really exceptional, they have recently started making their own caramel on site, and also have home made ice cream in the summer.... An enjoyable foray into the art and history of chocolate-making and a fun way to spend an afternoon in Québec City. Learned a lot and ate a lot! More

I would have given it a 5 if not for the lack of space to sit and enjoy your cup of hot chocolate this place is typical French: petite, quaint, classy, elegant! Great hot chocolate! Excellent choices of chocolate to purchase. Also function as museum and very interesting to read how chocolates are made. Nice decoaration of various tea pots... More

If you like ice cream and chocolate this is the place to go. The ice cream was some of the best i have ever had in my life anywhere in the world (the coconut especially). I found the chocolate to be good but not great as i consider myself a connoisseur. The different flavours are intriguing and quite unique which... More

This place is mainly a chocolate shop. But there is a small museum room attached. Having visited the original Hershey chocolate factory as a child, there wasn't much for me to learn here...but...in the museum room, look for the "gumball dispensers" that are filled with discs of various types of chocolate. For only 25 cents per handful you can satisfy... More

This museum is a cute little pit-stop to visit. It has interesting little facts about chocolate and the chocolate is delicious. There's even sugar free chocolate for those who have a sugar sensitivity. It's quaint and interesting, worth to check it out. More

I planned to visit this "Museum" under the impression that it was a museum. It is basically a chocolate shop, with a side room containing some artifacts and pictures. There's not much to see, I would recommend it if you'd like to buy chocolate, but it is definitely not an "attraction," but merely a store. It has some interesting novelties,... More

When you have seen all the historic stuff you can stand, head a few blocks out of Vieux Quebec to the Erico Chocolate Museum and store. It is an interesting summary of the history and modern production of chocolate, and then you can try some excellent samples! Plus, the neighborhood is nice and feels slightly trendy, but not at all... More

Our teenager insisted we find our way to this museum/shop and we were surprised that it was worth the trip! The museum is one large room with interesting facts and exhibits as well as a view into the chocolatiers working. The shop is excellent, both for food and souvenier purchases. Also, it is in a neighborhood we wouldn't have seen... More
