This was a fun novelty our first time in Quebec City. Only $2 per person (each way) and our youngest boy was free. Quick way to get up high and see the city! I didn't realize there was a staircase down or we probably would have done that, but we ended up taking it both ways. More

We had a friend recommend it so we headed there with the kids. You have a great view but the ride is short. At the bottom outside the gift shop there is n interesting history of the funicular and great little shops and restaurants. We took the stairs after that first ride. The stairs are a great work out! We rode it down and took the stairs up! We didn't know anything about it. To our surprise, when we walked out of the gift shop at the bottom, there was the cutest pedestrian street full of quaint shops. The only reason to ride this is to say you did it or if you aren't able to take the stairs.... More

If you are tired or in a hurry, it's a quick way to circumvent the stairways between Dufferin Terrace and the Petit-Champlain. At $2.00 per person, it is OK. You should ride it at least once on a visit. The stairs are fine otherwise. More

Great value! Neat gift shop at each end too. I would especially recommend it at night, when you can spot all the lights along the riverside. More

A nice way to go up the hill, but beware: in the summer, it's very hot and crowded. More

This is a convenient way to travel back from Lower Town as it beats the steep walk back up the hill. Good value at $2 per person. Good views back over Lower Town and St Lawrence River. More

I would recommend using this on the way back up to the Old City. We used the stairs to get down to the lower part of town and after a few hours exploring this was very useful and saved us climbing up all those stairs with a tired 8 year old. Price is fine and the carriage is glass so... More

The funicular is located near Place Royale. It gave us a great view as we we went up to the Dufferin Terrace and the Chateau Frontenac. Next to the building where you go for the funicular is the grave of Louis Jolliet. More
