The early 20th century basilica replaced an older one that burned down. It's located about 20 miles east of Quebec city and is a place of pilgrimage. Saint Anne is known for healing and there are many cases of people that were healed after praying to Saint Anne who was the mother of Mary and who is the patron saint... More

The shrine of Sainte Anne de Beaupre provides all the majesty and wonder of a European basilica on our own continent. Stories of miracles performed abound, and the entryway is full of crutches, limb braces, and other evidences of healings. Beautiful detailed mosaics, stained glass windows and paintings further enhance the soaring architecture. The grounds are beautiful, as well, providing... More

Our bus trip to Montmorency Falls included a visit to this Basilica. It is well worth a visit. It is lovely inside and we were very lucky the day we were there as there was a wedding which gave it a special atmosphere. The under Chapel is beautiful and very photogenic. More

Very impressive and rich with history. My children were reluctant, as they thought they would be bored, but the structure itself is so awe-inspiring that they were glad we stopped and they got to experience walking through the basilica. More

One more huge, but otherwise unremarkable church. The reasons for the pilgrimages here are interesting. More

If you are in the area this is a great place to visit. It is a huge basilica with many different areas upstairs and downstairs. They were doing maintenance inside when we visited so it was a little loud but when they are not working it must be so nice to sit and reflect. If you go out back on... More

The church is ok, maybe a little modern for a basilica. The whole place is a little weird, next to a highway, with a huge parking lot. Just not my kind of place... More

I never expected such an amazing church as this. Awe-inspiring. It has to be seen to be believed. The copper doors were my favourite part. More

The first time I pulled up to this catheral, I was in awe. Then I went again a few years later with my bf and I was STILL IN AWE. This is definitely a good place to stop and reflect. I cannot imagine who decided 100s of years ago to come build this here of all places. But they definitely... More
