Bonanza Creek is where it all started. Not seeing it would be like going to Egypt & not seeing the pyramids. Very east to drive to.

Pan for gold in the creek that launched the biggest gold rush the world has ever known. There’s still gold to be found here, all you need is the right combination of patience and luck. Take your pan to Claim #6 on Bonanza Creek, dig some dirt from the surrounding banks and wash it out in the river. Any gold you find, you can keep.

Claim #6 is a spot at Bonanza creek where anyone is allowed to pan for gold for free. You can rent a pan and a shovel for 2 dollars each at nearby Claim #33, and then get going. Basically you just take a bit of earth from across the street, carry it over to Bonanza creek, wash the dirt away...
