Our campsite had a faulty locker, and at 1:30 in the morning a bear ripped it open and took off with one of our smaller coolers. We followed the food rules, and made sure to clean out the car and put everything with a scent (down to the last lip gloss) in the bear proof locker. We were told upon... More

I grew up in Tahoe. Yes, it's the most beautiful lake I have ever seen. But this review is about the campground, not the lake or the views. I camped at DL Bliss a few years ago. We had one of the coveted beach front sites, we left after the first night. It was like Disneyland there. The sites are... More

We stayed at the Ridge campsite July 23-25 and had a great time and I would definitely stay there again. The campsites are clean and well-maintained. Each site (at least in our area) had 2 firepits (round metal and stone hearth type), close access to water faucet, and restrooms/showers. Our site fit 1 large tent and 1 medium tent with... More

We camped here July 15/16 2010 and it was a pleasant experience. No bears at all - I think they have really cracked down on the policing the use of the bear boxes. Nice facilities and very quiet and peaceful. More

From now on I will always head to DL Bliss for Tahoe camping. AMAZING campgrounds. Stayed in the Ridge, which was beautiful but next time I'd love to try a campsite in the Beach area. The campsites are spread out and pretty big so you have lots of privacy and room. Friendly rangers and staff, great great location far away... More

We just camped at DL Bliss State Park in Lake Tahoe this past weekend, and would love to go back and camp there again. We (my husband, myself and our 11-year-old daughter) were part of a larger group, so we stayed at the group site from Friday to Monday morning. The group site is pleasantly located under a grove of... More

We visited D.L. Bliss State Park about 7 years ago and found the interpretive trail at Balancing Rock to be fun and informative. Well, no more. That area of the State Park is now in ruins. It looks like it has not been maintained for a few years. A real disaapointment. However, the Rubicon Trail and Loop continues to be... More

We camped here for 2 nights during the last weekend of May, 2009. DL Bliss has 3 campgrounds, "Pines," "Ridge," and "Beach." Pines is located right next to the ranger check-in station, which is located about a mile from the beach. Ridge is located about halfway between Pines and the beach. The Beach campground is located very close to the... More

The campground was beautiful, but in early Sept. we had a group of 15 college kids reserve one site to have inexpensive beer parties unitl 1:00am with language I cannot repeat here. We had to notify the staff twice before the finally kicked them out, but our trip and mood had been ruined by then. Unleas you track them down,... More
