We spent our vacation in the Bahia principe resort nearby and was very impressed by the boat trip to Gri Gri lagoon: very nice scenery, a lot of birds and mangroves, also nice vews of the ragged shore on way to and back. The tour van picked us up at 8:15 AM and we returned back to Puerto Plata at 6:00 PM (We also stopped at Playa Grande). Bathrooms at the lagoon are pay only, so bring 5 pesos. Lagoon was beautiful. Lots of... More

The ride through the Lagoon Gri-Gri was great. And the site once you exited the lagoon was breathtaking. Green crystal clear water as far as the eyes can see. Gold reefs. It was amazing. More

There was only a few variety of birds and aquatic wild like. Although it did open onto a beautiful series of beaches and caves. More
