This place is best visited outside of school holidays and the weekends as it does get very busy. However it is a very pleasant place on a nice summers day. The cafe is okay.

Like most National Trust properties what potentially could be another pleasant house in pleasant gardens, turns out to be something really quite unusual and different. Ightham Mote is completely gorgeous and oozes history, fine architectural quirky detail. The helpers as ever are polite, informed and enthusiastic and involve you in the odd little features that you might not have noticed....

The stunning building is surrounded by peaceful gardens with an orchard, water features, lakes and woodland walks. The woodland walks are...

One of the very best National Trust properties we have visited to date. Stunning house, beautiful grounds and garden. The truly excellent stewards are bursting with enthusiasm and have many a fascinating tale to tell. Full marks to this superb crew! We really enjoyed our visit and even on a damp, dull Easter day. Will look fwd to visiting again...
