This place is best visited outside of school holidays and the weekends as it does get very busy. However it is a very pleasant place on a nice summers day. The cafe is okay. More

Like most National Trust properties what potentially could be another pleasant house in pleasant gardens, turns out to be something really quite unusual and different. Ightham Mote is completely gorgeous and oozes history, fine architectural quirky detail. The helpers as ever are polite, informed and enthusiastic and involve you in the odd little features that you might not have noticed.... More

We had a guided walk of the garden with Roger, a volunteer who was interesting and amusing. They run several walks a day and you get to see the old Mill Pond if you do this as you are unable to gain access on your own. More

Splendidly restored and well worth a visit. I think this was where the giant dog kennel was, which the boys insisted on sitting in (no dog in sight!) More

Ightham Mote is certainly worth a visit but isn't a very big site. With no crowds and no lingering you could do the whole place in an hour or two. The house is very interesting if on the small side but full of character and staffed with knowledgeable guides, but if the place is busy (as it was when we... More

My wife and I visited Ightham Mote on 21 April 2012 which was a typical April day of sunshine and showers. Firstly the property was great for this sort of day as the house takes about an hour and the gardens take as long as you have as they go on for ever! This means that dodging the showers is... More

Another National Trust gem in the heart of the Kent countryside. I visited Ightham Mote last weekend in my quest to find alternative dog walking locations as well as to utilise my National Trust membership; what a beautiful property! The stunning building is surrounded by peaceful gardens with an orchard, water features, lakes and woodland walks. The woodland walks are... More

One of the very best National Trust properties we have visited to date. Stunning house, beautiful grounds and garden. The truly excellent stewards are bursting with enthusiasm and have many a fascinating tale to tell. Full marks to this superb crew! We really enjoyed our visit and even on a damp, dull Easter day. Will look fwd to visiting again... More
