The island is like Venice with the colours turned up. Very well looked after small little island, with some good friendly cafés and of course what the island is famous for lace shops. Whilst I must admit I view lace for an older generation, the shops offer so much more in using their skills for more contemporary products for the... More

With a bit of planning, it's possible to visit Murano, Torcello and Burano in a day as we did, and we weren't moving very fast. Murano was too commercial for us, but Torcello and Burano were beautiful. As per other comments, Burano is a pleasure to visit just to wander through the streets, camera in hand, chat with the locals,... More

The small island of Burano is in my opinion, one of Venice's best attractions. It is a very beautiful fishing village. The home owners have to submit a request to the city for permission to paint their house. They are then given an option of bright colors to choose from. It is amazingly picturesque and has a very relaxing atmosphere.... More

Burano is the best! Very relaxed atmosphere. Nice to just walk through the town and look at all of the colorful homes and buildings. Of course they sell a lot of art depicting these buildings, some of it is even decently priced. And don't forget all the lace-work available if you are into that. Very beautiful. They have their own... More

If you love to take photos, this is the place to go. Go at the end of the day, as it is quieter and the reflections are amazing. If on you own, visit Verano first and this later. No tour needed. Just hop on a vaparetto and wander to your hearts content. Other than the vaparetto fare, totally free. More

Don't miss Burano. Lovely linens, quaint, quiet, picturesque colored houses and a great restaurant. Don't miss Da Romano. The shop in Murano took us to Burano (after we made a large purchase) and then we took the Vaporretti home. It was a fun adventure. More

The Vaparetto will get you out and around all the islands (Murano is on the way) but Burano is well worth the visit. Get a Venice Card for transport. It's much cheaper (they can be purchased in 1,2 or 3 days increments. They also have toilet cards in bunches of 10 for €5. The loos normally cost €1.50 per visit)... More
