There is a stone, supposedly where William Rufus caught a fatal arrow. The stone is covered by a council erected steel cover and a couple of information plaques. Nice car park but thats about it. Although a must for history freaks (king was assinated here) not much to occupy you. There is a pub (Sir Walter Tyrell) nearby. Turning in, if coming along A31 from the east, is dodgey. Always accidents here (Stoney Cross). More

There's just a smallish carved rock. Is that it? Still, some nice walks in the area, but not realy worth a detour to see this. More

It is a nice place to walk your dog but the monument of Rufus Stone is somewhat lacking in - well - anything really. More
