Everyone told me I needed to go, when they heard I was heading to Hobart. They were right. This is an amazing place and is for anyone regardless of age, sex, background or intersts. It was brillant. The staff are friendly and helpful, the 'art' is engaging and allows you to experience it in a positive way. The restuarant and... More

I had heard great things about MONA and was not disappointed. The architecture is amazing. The art is thought provoking and interesting. I found myself really analysing pieces and questioning about their validity and value. It did cost $20 to visit and $20 for the ferry ride there and back but definately worth it. A must do in Hobart for... More

After visiting so many museums all over the world, I was imaging, that nothing can surprise me and impress extremely. But I was wrong. The experience with MONA in Berridale is absolutely unique and inspiring. Some displays are shocking, but it`s not the main message of the exhibition. The mixture of different ideas, styles, philosophies, presented in exceptional forms and... More

Yes, I realise that modern art is supposed to confront and make one think, but my husband and I were left feeling completely ripped off after our MONA visit. The $20 ferry transfer AND $20 entrance fee each seemed a little excessive when we booked, however had we actually enjoyed the experience it would have been money well spent. Without... More

What an experience. Went to Hobart for the weekend with the main purpose being to visit MONA. My husband had been the previous year and couldn't stop talking about it. I was sure it couldn't be that good and I was sure to be disappointed. Certainly not. Not sure what I liked best, the professional friendly service, the amazing architecture... More

If you could build a Dream house the way you wanted to and then put all your Special pieces in it and only charged a paltry $20(nil if you are from Tassie) and made sure it had a Brewery,a cinema and a fantastic spot then you would build Mona.Oh and if you put some really shocking bits of stuff in... If you don't find something here that you find beautiful, interesting, appealing or even unusual you are very hard to please. The ferry cruise to and from most relaxing.

Was a little worried about going. Had seen stuff on tv and traveling on my own was sure how confronting it would be. But I loved it. Went in ferry which was lively very well organized. The museum had so many things that made me feel good and everything is displayed in such an accessible way. Don't think. Just go.

On a recent visit to Hobart, we spent a wonderful day at MONA (Museum of Old and New Art). It is an amazing experience from the first time you set eyes on the complex when approaching by ferry, to a final glimpse as you leave in the evening! At once an Art Gallery (splendid), Boutique Brewery (Moo Brew), Winery (Moorilla... More
