The visitor centre gives a really interesting insight into how the dam was built, its workings and to the use of hydro electric power generation along the Columbia River. The self guided tour is well worth the small charge. More

The Revelstoke Dam visitor centre shows you how the dam was built, the maintenance and upkeep of a dam. the production of power. You can get a wand with different languages that explains everything. You can also take an elevator up to the top, and enjoy a great view of the surrounding mountains, lake, river and valley. There is a... More

This dam is not far outside Revelstoke, accessible by car, cab, or even on foot, if you don't mind quite a hike along a highway. But however you go to this attraction, be sure to bring your passport or other adequate ID with you. Security is TIGHT at the entrance to the Visitor's parking lot. The guard there even searched... We visited the Revelstoke Dam on a very hot August afternoon because we were looking for a place we could go with the dog. We were greeted with smiles and dog treats when we arrived there as well as being given great advice about what to see during the visit. There are many interactive exhibits which kept the kids (boys... More

I was reluctant to go but gave into my son and husband - I am glad I did. A lot of effort has been made to build this huge dam and to provide a educational experience to the guest who visit. We were astounded at the engineering feat to took to create the dam. This is a must see for... More

On a recent trip to Revelstoke, I had read about the Revelstoke Dam and just had to go there. I definitely was not disappointed. What an engineering feat this place is....over 1/4 million loads of concrete to build the dam. Very interesting information and what incredible views from the top of the dam!! Cameras, cell phones, purses, etc. could not... More

If you're in or near Revelstoke --go. It was quite fun, cool, and informative. You can just drive out and see the view from the parking lot, or the highway--or pay the small fee to enter the Dam itself (They do have a family rate--which even saves a bit for a family of three or four.) If you go into... More
