Stayed in Fernie area from April 9-12, 2012, and snowboarded on the mountain on April 10th & 11th. The quality of snow was decent even though the daytime temperatures were well over +10C. Most runs were groomed overnight. Lifts weren't very busy and the runs were not crowded. You also don't have to dress very warm but make sure you... More

We have been skiing in Fernie for a weekend in March - although it weas close to the end of the season, there was more than sufficient snow. There is a wide range of slopes and we would also not have been bored, if we would have stayed for a whole week. A difference to European skiing ressorts is that... More

Fernie is only 3 hours from Calgary and a great place to ski and snowboard. It is strategically placed on the snowbelt and can get dumps of snow (12+") that only give a few cms to the other hills. Fernie has a great mix of terrain and is a good hill for the whole family. One of my favourite sides... More

The best skiing ever is at Fernie Alpine Resort. Huge amounts of snowfall and absolutely no lineups. A bit pricey with very few services (bad day lodge, few restaurants), but for the skiing purist this is the place to be. More

What a fabulous 2011-12 season! Of course it's not always that good but there's no guarantees anywhere. There is LOTS of terrain to choose from. More

I spent the 11/12 season in Fernie..at the time of writting (25th March) it had snowed over 10m and the snow pack was at over 4m. It snowed about 4 days a week on average and just gave the most amazing powder skiing I've ever had. The mountain is split across 5 bowls which makes for great skiing (especially on... More

This was the first of 8 mountains of my skiing journey in Canada. What a wonderfull way to start. Flew into Calgary and shuttled to Fernie 4hrs. Driver stopped on Alberta border to buy liquor. Taxes very high in BC the driver tells me so....The drive is boring untill the Rockies come into play. Given a tour of Town before... More

Fernie can be the best place in the world to ski or ride or not so great when it rains. We managed to be there for a 66 cm day on the White Pass Chair - the best powder day I have ever had. Snow was knee to waist deep all day long. Epic. However, when it rains, the bottom... More
