Since you can drive here from the main road this is must visit if you are in the parks area. The actual falls is a short walk from the parking lot and the area around the falls is quite pleasant. There are a number of reasonable day hikes to do from this area as well More

Takakkaw Falls was easily accessed by car and a short (2 minute) walk from parking. The falls are breathtaking. More

We only went to Takakkaw Falls, as we were also taking in a portion of the Icefields Parkway - while not the biggest or most spectacular falls, it was pretty impressive, but taking the walking path from the parking lot to "under the falls" is a must! How close to "under the falls" you get depends on how wet you... More

Well worth the short walk to basically sit at the base of the Falls, close enough to get wet! Look out for the camera loving marmots!! More

The literal translation of Takakkaw is 'That's amazing' and it really is an amazing sight. There are a couple of other sights of interest along the way such as spiral tunnel and a river confluence. There is a very steep switchback along the way which RVs have to revers up at one point so be prepared. More

We only visited Takakkaw Falls. These falls are 10-15 minutes away from Emerald Lake, Natural Bridge, and Spiral Mountains. It is 30 minutes away from Lake Louise and Lake Emerald. You can actually hike a trail to Lake Emerald, but we were not trying to do all that. The mountain roads, although kept in the best condition that they could... More

We went here in July 2010. The falls are pretty magnificent but we actually only came to this area to hike the Iceline Trail. Once you are up above tree line, the view of the falls is amazing. Would recommend! More

The falls look amazing and there is an easy walk to the base - although the falls can be seen for miles. The drive up is lovely from Field (about 15mins) although you shouldn't try it with a campervan or long vehicle as there are some switch-backs that are very sharp even for normal cars. There are lots of walks... More

This falls is up a 10 mile roadway in Yoho NP, British Columbia near Field. It can be seen from the parking lot, but you are able to walk up to it easily. We were fortunate to see in in the afternoon/evening where the sunlight was perfect, displaying a rainbow that was beautiful. If you have one thing to do... More

These waterfalls are definitely the most most beautiful ones I have seen in Canada during my trip ( I have seen about a 20). The road leading there is in itself already worth the trip and once you arrrive there, the views are breathtaking. The waterfall is easily accessible from the parking lot. The Takkakaw falls don't seem to be... More
