For bear watching (and wildlife generally) the Bell Coola valley is very good. But there isn't much else to do unless you have a boat or a 4x4.

The walls of the valley are spectacular with water falls many hundreds of feet tall.
There are handicaps for enjoying the wildlife. The first ten miles up the road from Bella Coola is habitated so that grizzlies do not feel comfortable there. Areas for viewing grizzlies bears are limited and the viewing platform does not open until September 15. The...
