Much trailed as the flagship attraction, the undoubtedly beautiful Wrest Park still feels very much 'work in progress'. English Heritage deserve full marks for their effort, but the problem here is one of expectation. Few rooms are open and even fewer originally furnished (not EH's fault as the place was cleared out decades ago) so the interior of the house... More

We visited with a tour bus on a busy Sunday, but the park still had a nice feeling of being very peaceful and quiet. I had read about the cafe on trip advisor so we planned ahead and brought our lunch. There were many park benches with lovely views to enjoy our lunch, however it was very chilly so make... More

Wrest Park is a beautiful location with stunning grounds. First impressions were very good. The car parking was well managed with friendly staff welcoming us on arrival. Although the estate is currently undergoing renovation everything looks generally clean and well presented. Despite the toilets being modern, the main gents toilets stank of urine due to some kind of plumbing issue... More

My four star rating for Wrest Park is due to the beautiful house and gardens. We went in the middle of March on the first really warm, sunny Sunday of 2012. There is an excellent playground area for children, clean and nicely maintained. The volunteers that greeted us as we arrived were welcoming and very helpful with directions on where... More

I have been a member of English Heritage since June 2011. The places we have visited so far have been as part of other journeys. This visit was specifically to see the gardens in winter as they have just been reopened as part of a 20 year plan. We will be going again later in the year, to see how... More

We decided to go for a day at Wrest Park after seeing the restoration reported on BBC news. Its very much an emerging attraction as opposed to one which has matured with everything on offer. The new playground for the kids was very good , as was the cafe and visitor entrance building. Toilets were clean and accessable. What i... More

Have visited a few times now, great place for long walks- the gardens & their buildings are beautiful, especially during autumn/winter. Simple but good menu in the café- best bit is the huge slices of cake they serve! More

Very nice woodlands to walk with surprises hidden in. Nice views and stunning house. Interesting historic place. Play area for children and coffee shop are good. A little bit expensive. More

We visited Wrest Park with our two young children the weekend after it 'opened' to the public. In point of fact Wrest Park has been open for a few years, but English Heritage had a bid relaunch event earlier this year when they finished a major phase of the 20 year garden restoration project. Wrest Park is vast, totalling 90... More
