If you like old planes this is for site visit is for you. Give yourself some time to explore all the hangers. For the ladies and those not interested in the planes, a walk around the Swiss garden is worth the effort. Lots of good photo opportunities. There are numerous different bridges to cross over and photograph too. Look out... More

Kids loved it!, we loved it also until we got to the cafe/resturant, quite over priced and the food was not brilliant, seeing the owls at the falconry centre was great fun, you could easily spend the day here, but watch out it could damage the old wallet! More

The collection of old airplanes is reputed to be among the best in the world, and there are flying displays on the weekend during summer months. But for me, the best part is the Swiss Garden, about 10 acres of early 19th C landscaped gardens, tranquil and spacious with some exquisite architectural features recently restored. A feast of beauty for... More

A great, and individualistic, collection of vehicles - specialising in early flight. Laid out in a series of hangers, explore some of the weird and wonderful flying machines of the early Twentieth Century. But, not just a museum, there's a live airfield outside and on the day we were there, there was lots of activity. There's also a great playground,... More

A good collection of working aircraft and other vehicles dating back to the earliest days. However, entrance is expensive (£12.00 per adult) and when I entered at 3.00pm I wasn't told that the facility closed at 4.00pm. hence I missed the last two hangers. Better value, by far, is to go the Hendon RAF museum instead. It is free, and... More

We go at least twice a year mainly on flying days. Unique 1930s grass airfield experience. Fabulous collection that is flown along two sides of the crowd viewing area. Cars can park in rows on a gently sloping field facing towards the main runway, with the aircraft taxiing and starting up line on one side of the field. Double views.... More

It's relatively easy to see an airshow in the UK in summer. Modern jets crossing your field of view and carving up into the clouds in the blink of an eye. You can even see a good selection of piston engined aircraft at places like Duxford. But, in a sleepy little grass airfield, just off the A1 and missed by... More
