The Leonardo da Vinci exhibition was excellent - but the talk "inspired" by his drawing of feet and other parts of the human body barely mentioned Leonardo at all. Instead it was the recollections of the speaker - interesting but not what I had travelled to hear. More

Went to see the Michaelangelo drawings, but stayed to look round the rest of the gallery and loved it. Unlike some bigger places that can wear you out in one section, that has lots of small sections each with some lovely stuff, particularly like the French and Bristol School of Artists collections. Had to be dragged away. More

The museum is great for a day out if your bored. The main hall is decorative and spacious, featuring a repica of the Bristol boxkite usedn in the making of the 1965 film, 'Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines'. Features include British natural history, Ancient Egypt, dinosaurs, glorious paintings and china and much more. I recommend it to anyone... More

This is the kind of museum you remember from your childhood. It's imposing, quite old-fashioned in a pleasing way but endlessly diverting with an eclectic mish-mash of exhibits from dinosaur relics to an early aircraft. It is also very child-friendly with a nice play area and, around the displays, little activity centres. The building itself is worth a visit, and... More

The Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery are situated about 1mile from Bristol City Centre so if you are feeling energetic you can walk there from the Centre and Waterfront area, in about 20 minutes. However it might be prudent to take a taxi there, as Park street, which leads to the attraction is very long and steep. The museum... More

I've just been today, first of May, and they had a wonderful Leonardo exhibition showing 10 of his works. They were kind enough to provide us with magnifying glasses so we could see some of the detail. The staff are very dedicated, positive and helpful. I left my luggage in a very nice generously sized locker and I got my... More

Museums have a reputation for being stuffy and boring with dry education but recently they have come in to competition with science centres such as @Bristol for their younger audience, museums have started to provide specifically designed children’s areas. The majority of the museum is aimed at older individuals with a large amount of text on their signs but being... More

Very interesting museum. Not too big, I saw an interesting photography exhibition. Everything has interesting descriptions and is well labelled. It's also very interactive and simply not boring. More

I'd suggest it mostly to children cause you can find interesting geological exhibition as well as a few dinosaurs and lots of staffed animals. The atmospere is a bit dreary and it doesn't ispire lots of enthusiasm or interest although the spaces are well cared for (considering the free entrance!).It just doesn't appeal to you if you're older than 14-15....
