Starting at 11am outside the Marriot Hotel at the bottom of Park street, we run for 3 hrs with a stop for lunch at Pieminister. You'll see pirates, hear about Brunel, learn the dark legacy of the slave trade and wrap it all up with the greatest adventure Bristol has to tell, the story of John Cabot. Walking Bristol is a unique, entertaining and accessible tour run by friendly, enthusiastic guides whose dedication can be no more evident than in the fact that they give up their free time to share their passion for Bristol's past with no financial gain in mind. I cannot recommend it enough, having learnt more about Bristol's history in those three hours... More

A great way to find out more about Bristol. The length of the tour was just right with plenty of rest stops including the tasty Pie Minister lunch. The guide was friendly and informative with a great story-telling style that kept us entertained and left me wanting to know more about this beautiful, fascinating city. More

This is a really excellent introduction to Bristol. The guide is interesting, informative, enthusiastic, helpful and doesn't skimp over the more "difficult" aspects of Bristol's history. I grew up in nearby Cardiff but was visiting with two friends from overseas, and I felt that the guide really represented the spirit of Bristol in both words and deeds: the tour supports... More

It's really worth to keep on eye on the Walking-Bristol dates. The tour was great. Exactly the right amount of historical facts, added with information from people who really live and study in Bristol. You can really feel how the guides are passionate about their city. Lunch at Pieminister was also a great idea. More

This is a group of enthusiastic students who convey the best of the rich culture and history of this very old city. The tour is not simply about ages past however, it... More

My advice is to go it alone you will probably learn more of Bristol's history sat on a bench on college green then you ever will on this tour. Students should keep their nose out of history they dont have a clue about. All I can say is avoid at all costs unless you want to be lectured by a... More
