Great to take children and grown-up children! Easy parking. Thomas the Tank Engine is always a favourite. Wonderful to be transported (sorry for the pun) back in time.

Great centre, no matter what age you are....Lots to see and do with very helpful staff. Go and enjoy
Firstly my 'terrible' rating applies not to the attraction but the disgusting their public relations. My wife & I visited on August 4th & were told that the centre was closed to the public due to a wedding taking place that took over the whole site. This despite that day being shown as an open day in the centres 2012...

Arrived on a non steam day granted but didn't expect that would mean very little open or things to do especially as still paid the full admission price of £5.50 per adult and £3.50 per child. Even the cafe was closed and no minature railway run.
Whilst I appreciate the hard work volunteers do to run these places, I think...

We visited during Easter with "Day out with Thomas", which added the fun for the little ones. The site also has running miniature trains and a little train ride. Good exhibition and lots to see ! Overall, it is a must for those who love trains and particularly good for the little ones.
This is such a good day out. We have been many times and still keep returning for more. There are lots of different activites for all ages whenever you may chose to go. The many volunteers work hard to make this place so special.
My son reviewed this after taking a trip with Grandad.
Went on one of their many special days when they had visiting Steamies and there was a lot to see. He loved pin on the miniature trains and the facilities were good too. Drawback was massive queue at peak time in restaurant/cafe in a converted carriage.
Easy to get to...

Steam trains! What else can I say? Lovely! Good opportunity to go for rides, look round the yard, smell the smells, look at the engines. choo choo!
Waddeston Manor was closed so we came here to save our day - it's well worth going and they have some nice exhibits - including old tube train carriages which took me back a bit - and of course Thomas the Tank Engine.
There's plenty for the real "rail anorak" here, but also enough for those who just want a...
