It is difficult to conjure up the majesty of steam in a siding a few hundred yards long. The exhibits are moderately interesting but this really needs a proper railway. There are such. More

My daughter was getting married at the Buckinghashire Railway Centre as she wanted something a little different. This was very different. As an avid fan of steam traction and was once a member of the Society I was looking forward to going back to the centre after a lapse of about 8 years. The wedding was catered for within the... More

I have visited the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre on a number of occasions, most recently on 6th May 2012, which was a "gala weekend" including miniature steam locos running on the Vale Of Aylesbury's layout. This was a good day out, which was clearly being enjoyed by all ages. There's something here to interest a cross section of railway enthusiasts, as... More

Brought my son here for a visit (though I love trains a lot more than he does) and we had quite a nice time, though it has to be said that the only operational engines were a couple of tank englines, and not the nice Castle Class on display in the old station building. There is a quaint little museum... More

The folks here all have a passion for the station and the exhibition areas and of course the steam trains. Wonderfull experience for those that have never been for a ride on a steam train. try to visit when one of the many special events are on. Good cafe for food and drinks, More

The centre is great but the ride on the Thomas Santa train very disappointing. Even my three year old grandson kept asking why are we going backwards again? More

This is bit dated and in my experience relies too heavily on the Thomas the tank engine! More

Very disjointed site, some good bits if the trains are running - but the ride is basically a couple of hundred metres and back. If Tomas the tank is in - then lil kids love it - otherwise its not great for couples and teens hated it - strange exhibits like the collection of railway chippings from around the country.... More
