This is a lovely college to visit on a quiet mid week day in summer - the grounds are lovely and have benches along the pathway to enable you to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. For my money this is my favourite Cambridge College to visit. It has several Tudor courts complete with towering entrances, a strikingly beautiful chapel (in the tallest building in Cambridge) and a gothic north range which is almost like a fantasy landscape. There is not a lot to see and many parts are not accessible for visitors which is a little irritating considering you've paid to enter. However the entrance fee is not particularly expensive and there is enough to enjoy particularly the grounds and wonderful architecture. More

Not only is St Johns one of the nicest colleges to view if you can get the chance to go to the top of the tower it is one of the highest towers in Cambridge and you can on a clear day see ely cathedral 15 miles away.Also if you can get into the chapel when the organist is practising... More
