I really enjoy Wimpole Hall, however, the house is in need of a serious update. The Gardens are fantastic, well kept, blooming flowers all year round, but the house needs some serious treatment. More

Unfortunately we arrived in the morning on a wet day and the house didn't open until 1 pm. But we enjoyed a very good 1-hour "art taster" tour with a very knowledgable guide. More

Spent an interesting day exploring the Hall and the gardens. There was some restoration work going on and we were fascinated to see that the two people climbing around on the scaffolding were a pair of intrepid women. Good for them! I really enjoyed having well informed guides in each room. They did not intrude, but were ready to answer... More

The house is lovely. Elsie Bambridge, daughter of Rudyard Kipling, made it a life's work to restore the beauty of the house and it's furnishings. I loved all the old trunks in the boot room - original Louis Vuittons with their Blue Star liner labels. The parkland is impressive and the spring flowers are a real delight. More

We had a lovely free day at wimpole hall and farm as it was the national trusts free weekend, the hall is very intresting with an eye for detail. The gardens are beautiful and very well kept. The farm which is a working farm is very educational. All the staff were very knowable and friendly. More

Had a lovely free day out here and a tasty super meal in the restaurant. Lots to see and do we were here 5 hrs and didn't manage everything. We went on a national trust free day and it was well worth it. I'm not sure the entrance fee of £40 for a family of four would have me coming... More

Wimpole is a fascinating historic house rich with detail and context, well staffed by knowledgeable volunteer helpers. The gardens are beautifully and enthusiastically kept and there is a working farm which provides endless amusement for the children. Add to this a large restaurant with a variety of hot and cold foods, craft shops and a small church on the site... More
