This tiny city on the edge of the Fenland region is a pocke venus of a place. The cathedral could be seen standing proud on the horizon, truly the ship of the fens. They call this majestic building the "Ship of the Fens" surrounded as it was by water for over a thousand years until the wetalnds were drained in the 18 and 19 C. Beautiful, interesting and well worth visiting if you are in the area. Spent several hours here exploring the cathedral. Excellent guided tour available also. Take your camera! more
