Entrance fee a little expensive but worth the visit as it is very extensive inside with lots of places to explore. If you are keen on military history (which I am not) it will really be your cup of tea. The views are great and the cafe particularly nice with great coffee (not that easy to find on Guernsey) and... Five museums and a castle rolled into one. The noonday gun is an experience not to be missed. Altogether an excellent day out. More

Definitely take the tour at 10:00 AM with Tom. Knows his history. Very amusing. Very considerate. Walk is very manageable. Views are great. Watch the noon firing of the cannon ceremony, then have a snack in the castle cafe. Have your pic taken with cannon crew by Tom! More

This castle has history and retains most of it's original buildings having been little destroyed by war. There are buildings and fortifications from medieval, napoleonic and german occupation periods still standing. it is full of little nooks and crannies and hidden gardens. There are several museums within the castle; infantry, RAF, maritime, Guernsey history and WWII. Sometimes these can be... More

Beautiful location with well laid out museums giving excellent insight into the history of Guernsey militia. The castle itself is impressive and there are beautiful views back to the St Peter Port. Relatively expensive entry but there is a cheap short visit late afternoon. More

A great place to while away a few hours. (We spent three and a bit in there!) Great value for money, plenty to see. Enriched with a lot of knowledge of the history of the island and castle on leaving. Four museums within the grounds of the castle to roam around. A good day out. More
