They're walls. They're old. They circle the city. Parts give some quite nice views. I especially liked looking at the back of the Cathedral. Also useful for by passing the shopping area. More

The Chester walls offers me and my children a way to see all the sights of Chester in 2 hours. Park near water tower was calm and peaceful. Only fault were closures which although there were detours were slightly irritating. Overall great though. More

Walked the walls in Chester during the early morning. Although some areas were closed for repair even the "detour" routes offered wonderful views. More

Excellent views all around Chester, easy to hop on and hop off at various points to further explore. Great that it is a complete circuit of the city - just over two miles long. More

We enjoyed the walls tour independently walking around clockwise starting above Eastgate Street at the Eastgate Clock. See Map: http://www.chesterimages.com/chester_1/secondary/wall_tour/wallsroute.htm It is lovely if you want to see the River Dee and the racecourse as well as the lovely city centre. It took us about an hour and a half. More

Not quite. Chester's walls are generally well preserved, particularly on the East side of the City on provide a very worthwhile exercise on any visit and for most ages. You can do the full circuit easily or choose to do a section with the City Centre always just a few minutes away. Highlights are Chester's Eastgate (the 2nd most photographed... More

Try walking the walls of Chester, you will see Chester more clearly than from the shoppers level below. Chester Was an old Roman Township known as Deva and there is still plenty of evidence of this. They have been slowly excavating the old Roman fort which can be seen clearly from the walls. You will also pass along by the... More
