Very enjoyable experience. The dig area was really interesting. The hands on/interactive areas were great and are fascinating for children and adults alike. More

This is advertised as an outing for children, we enjoyed it as adults and found the different escavation levels of the different time periods interesting. (ps. We also tired on the roman outfits ... nice photo oppertunity) More

This museum has a little of everything: waxworks with the smells and sounds of Roman Chester; artifacts; interactive exhibits (mosaic making, dressing up, etc etc); and real live digs. Pretty cool More

We came to chester for a weekend away in Feb. We are from York so its pretty similar and we have a Viking Museum which is fantastic so we were expecting something very similar from the Roman Experience. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. There weren't many artefacts and the ''hands on room'' was some dress up items. If you've got... More

Initial impressions were of a dingy, amateurish, old fashioned display which did not impress or improve. Well below the standard of most museums these days. More

A con. Go to the nearby Grosvenor museum which actually has Roman relics, is free, warm, interesting and accessible. The visit to the Dewa place was one of the worst tourist experiences I've had. Cold and dirty too. There is a wee place next to the Grosvenor museum where a tour guide gave an excellent hands on guide to Roman... More

I think this is an experience specifically for the younger generation or those very enthusiastic about the roman era, I have seen many groups of late teens on school trips from the UK and abroad not looking too impressed with the experience, yet the kids seem to love it. More
