St. Michaels Mount is an expedition! there's a ferry service (£1.50 one-way) that runs constantly until the tide goes out and then the famous causeway can be walked (or waded!) The Mount is a lovely place and i'm very envious of the Islanders for living in such a beautiful peaceful place (when we tourists have gone of course!). The castle... more

St. Michael's Mount in Cornwall has gone to my heart. Imagine... the castle is still the residence of an honourable family and say 30 families having their outcome and residing on the tiny island with walking-access twice a day, when the tide allows walking on the causeway made by pilgrims. Every day I did such walk being an 'early-bird' and... more

I visited here in early February. They only have tours in the Winter during Tuesday and Friday and only at 11AM and 2PM depending on the weather. When I arrived 30 minutes early I was a bit disappointed to see the rock causeway mostly covered in water. Surprisingly, the tide went out within 15 minutes to make walking both to... more

St Michael's Mount is well worth the visit. We took the boat across to the island for a nominal charge and it was really good fun. The castle is at the top of a lot of steps but don't let that put you off. The views are stunning from the top and the exhibitions in the castle are very interesting.... more

St Michaels Mount is definitely worth a visit , You can access the castle by walking across the causeway when the tide is low, and if the tide is high, then you can get a boat which costs £1.50 per adult (sorry not sure what child prices are). It is quite a hike to get to the castle but once... more

St Michael's Mount is accessed via a causeway. You can access it by foot for only a certain amount of time each day. It is truly a magical place. The nearest town is Marazion [pronounced mara-zion! It is well worth the walk along the causeway. You can by a little book of all the tide times from most of the... more

We walked across the causeway but didn't fancy paying the £6 to go in the castle, as it looked very crowded. The little island is very nice though and the dock is pretty. What we really liked was the £3 boat ride around the island which offered astounding views, and the captain was very knowledgeable. The walk along the beach... more

At £6 to get in, it's worth every penny. It takes about 10 minutes to walk across the causeway from Marazion to the castle. Once on the island, you can take a boat (£3) around the parameter of the castle, which takes about 30 mins. The castle itself is spectacular, and the inside is just as you'd expect. Overall, definatly... more
