We did about 10 miles of this trail last weekend and it was great although a little crowded. As with most cycle and pedestrian paths some people stay on the proper side making it awkward for others. The surface was fine for our hybrid bikes and the entire bit we were on Padstow to a little past Wadebridge was pretty... More

We walked from Wadebridge to Padstow and return in late March. The scenery is breathtaking especially with the sun on the sand bars at low tide in the Camel estuary. The wind is usually behind you on the way back and of course the walk is level. There are none of the parking probs at Richsteinsville (Padstow) - take a... More

We have cycled this before and had a good ride. The views are ok and Wadebridge is a nice place to break the ride, but I found the surface rough and dangerous in places. I have quite fat tyres as well! Not sure how small children and inexperienced cyclists found it. To be fair though, it may have been a... More

We decided to walk from wade Bridge to Padstow on the camel trail what a mistake it was 6 miles of sheer hell. We walked with the dogs on short leads and kept close to our legs on the inside of us. Cyclists took no consideration for walkers and sped past at high speeds rode 4 a breast. We where... More

Each time we go to Padstow we do this ride. The best route for people not used to cycling is Wadebridge to Padstow - just over 5 miles. Park in Padstow, get a pasty in the town and catch the small ferry to Rock and sit on the beach before heading back again. Between Padstow and Wadebridge you are cycling... More

An easy, enjoyable day out - starting in Padstow and cycling through Wadebridge and Poley's bridge, a total of 18 miles. Good exercise, plenty of places to stop for a drink, ice-cream or lunch along the way. Gorgeous views of the estuary and forests in Cornwall. More

A work colleague of my girlfriend recomended that we cycle the Camel Trail if we were going to Padstow. We are both of above average fitness and cycle frequently so the distance and anticipated 36 mile return route was not of much concern, so to add a little challenge we decided to use a tandem! Hiring the Tadem was what... More

Various starting points including Padstow and Wadebridge both of which have extensive bike hire facilities. You will more than likely have to Pay&Display for parking at these two. Bike Hire is between 10 and 12 pounds for an adult bike for the day. Padstow to Wadebridge starts at the end of the main working quay, past all the parking, flat... More

Pleasant ride through a variety of landscapes and relatively easy ride for all members of the family. Because we had our own bikes we took the advice of a previous reviewer and started out at Boscarne Junction which is relatively easy to find on the Bodmin Road from Weybridge (A389) and clearly signposted behind the pub to a free car... My family and I cycled from Bodmin to Padstow last August - this is part of the Camel Trail. I was dubious as I hadn't been on a bike for some 20 years. Best to book in advance to be sure of the right size of bike. Once I got going I loved it. The scenary is beautiful and you... More
