I’ve been coming to St Ives for over 20 years (I’m 26 now). It’s the only place in the UK I enjoy visiting. It’s clean, has great atmosphere and provides onsite food/drink at a reasonable price. Since being married, I’ve taken my wife here every year, and I plan on passing the ritual to my kids in the future. More

Porthmeaor beach is a nice place to set up the wind breaks and bring out the picnic. There are rocks at one side and you can watch the surf school and surfers on the other side. There are toilets - not the cleanest but ok, and a kiosk serving food and drink. For those who want to spend more there... More

Sitting here looking over the beach in storm force gales today, this beach is a wonderful place, doggy friendly until 1st May. Good reliable surf, fantastic proximity to harbour and the town, but most of sooo beautiful whatever time of year.seals we in the water with us last October playing in the surf, Magic. Wherever I have travelled, nothing compairs... More

What a superb beach. The golden sand, the lovely waves, the colour of the sea, the attractive headlands and the short hop to cafes and restaurants. Many happy memories and it remains unspoilt. More

Porthmeor is a fabulous beach, especially out of season. Every year, for one week in March, we stay in an apartment building actually on the beach and marvel at the power of the Atlantic Ocean waves. At low tide there is a massive expanse of fine sand. We sometimes just watch the surfers and have seen as many as 50... More
