We came here on our first evening, was very peaceful as we sat and ate at the Porthminster Beach Cafe. Lovely staff, setting and amazing food - was a very popular place. The beach was clean and very pretty.

Porthminster Cafe produces an wonderful menu based on locally sourced food and ingredients from their hillside garden. This is by far the best food and view in St. Ives! Coffee and muffins in the morning..... great. Dinner, I loved monkfish curry. Great blend of flavors, mildly spiced, and a few mussels and shrimp thrown in for good measure. Book ahead...

Lovely sheltered beach. Not too large, not too small. White sand, clear water and rocks with rock pools. Great sand for sandcastles. Peaceful in the morning and buzzy during the day. A couple of nice cafes and a take away bar. Two shops selling the usual bucket and spades etc. and toilets a short walk from the beach. Would reccommend.

Lovely beachside restaurant, with excellent food, efficiently and professionally served by a team of young waitresses. The sister eating place to the Porthgwidden, it provides a more sophisticated slant on the wonderful seafood of the area.

Whenever we know someone is going to St Ives we always recommend the Lelant park and ride train service and then straight down to the beach cafe and it never, ever fails to impress. We love going there for evening meals wrapped on blankets as much as a morning coffee and a crumpet. You must visit.

When you get off the train in St Ives, this beach is right below you. On a sunny day the water's shades of turquoise, darkening towards the horizon. The sand is fine and pale gold. It also boasts an excellent restaurant.

This beach sweeps across a big bay with golden sand and pretty little beach huts framing it from behind. You can play tennis nearby and the Porthminster Cafe is a fab place to eat. Safe for children as it is not near a road. The sea is chrystal clear and azure blue. Enjoy!

A clean beach with plenty of cafes. A nice relaxing day out.

This is probably the best beach for the kids to paddle in the sea as the waves aren't as harsh here as some of the others.
