Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Peacefull and tranquil place ,very pleasing on the eye. I know it's a cemetery, but walking up the hill back to our uninviting apartment from porthmeor beach ,we decided to detour and try to find the grave of ALBERT WALLIS. After all we were staying in an apartment named after him .and we had found the house he once lived in.Succes 2out of 2.We just wish we had not had the same luck when booking the apartment through CARBIS BAY HOLIDAYS,now part of SYKES COTTAGES. If Albert was still alive, I think he would have declined the offer of a bedroom in this apartment because there were only four hooks on the bedroom wall to hang any clothes and we were using them,These were classed as hanging area.No Wardrobe No Consideration Neil A

What a beautiful place to spend the rest of eternity!
Spectacular views from the cemetery over the Porthmeor beach & beyond. The two identical “Chapel of Rest” buildings appear to be owned by a funeral directors now but you are free to wander around the graveyard & look at some of the old headstones.

As previously mentioned I’m not sure either why this is a TA location to visit, a church most probably ‘yes’, but a church yard, probably not, unless there is something outstanding about it.
The family and friends of those buried here may well like the views, but it’s a shame that the grassed areas are not being maintained. Easy to reach from Barnoon car park or from the Tate Gallery.
Don’t go out of your way to visit here!

Next to a busy car park which is a bit of a shame but the old headstones are quite interesting of you're into that kind of thing.

What a beautiful final resting place with a lookout over the bay. Not sure how a cemetery can really attract a 'review' on Trip Advisor but the place just afforded such a beautiful view. Something very peaceful about the place.

This is in a beautiful position just above the bay. We managed to find Alfred Wallis' grave. The cemetery looks a little bit unkempt which is a pity but still worth a visit if you are in St Ives.

Went here to find Alfred Wallis grave. I love his naive paintings and think he got a raw deal from the art world in his lifetime. Lovely grave covered with tiles from the Leach Pottery, worth a look.

If you can't find a quiet corner and need a moment of peace in St. Ives, this is the place for you. Beautifully kept, peaceful and with glorious views of blue sky and glimpses of the sea.

There is so much history here but the location is really the outstanding part. The views from the cemetery are stunning and such be tried at different times of the day and night.

As a little girl on holiday I remember being here with my family saying we would like to be buried here when our time is up but I wondered if there is a church here too? I thought there was but I was young or maybe getting confused with another. St.Ives is stunning.

My G.Grandfather, William Veal, is buried there. If I remember correctly his Gravestone Cross was the tallest in the cemetery. Is there a photo of this
please ?

Hi Roger. I visited the cemetery this week and have posted some photos that may be of interest to you. Not only William Veal, but also a few other Veals who may well be related. The cross is by no means the tallest, though it is at the higher part of the graveyard.

Walked around this graveyard for a couple of hours looking for Alfred Wallis grave, did'nt find it and ran out of time. Can anyone advise me roughly where it is so I can find it on my next visit. Thanks.

Hi, the grave is on the lower level of the cemetery, coming from the Tate, not far from the chapel, sorry I cant be more precise.
