I'd been to Bakewell twice before, but I'd missed this! A disused railway viaduct tucked away in the valley of the River Wye, now reborn as a trail for walkers and cyclists. You can walk from Bakewell station, then view it from on high at Monsal Head and from below in Monsal Dale. A great way to spend an afternoon! More

Easily achievable and fun too with a 5&8 year old. We hired adult's bikes at Hassop Station having brought the children's ones with us. A great cycling experience including through a tunnel then onto a viaduct. We parked up the bikes and ran down the hill to the river below before riding back again. More

Wonderful cycle route. We hired bicycles from Hassop Station, near the Bakewell end of the trail. You can hire for 2-hr, 4-hr, or all day.
