As many other reviewers have said, the plus side is it is free, the down side is that it is a shop first and foremost. The museum part was quite interesting and the food in the cafe is good but slightly overpriced with a long wait if it's a busy day. There was nothing in the shops that I was... More

Have been here loads of times on a Sunday afternoon. If you are lucky the workshop is open and you can see glassmaking. Usually a vase or similar. Very inetresting. There are several large 'marble runs' that have been built inside for you to watch. They are fascinating but there are only 3 smallish ones and one huge one on... More

We came in here to escape the weather on a rainy day. It was essentially a shop full of a mixture of reasonably priced items and then way overpriced things (£5.50 for a card anyone?!). We enjoyed the marble runs, although some of them were out of order. The glass blowing was closed due to "staff illness", which was disappointing,... More

Easter monday and the place was heaving!!! Had a marbvles game and easter egg hunt organised for the kids and staff were lovely. Lots to see and do, all free of charge. Lovely to see example of old Bovey pottery in the museum section. Huge carpark, nice playground and nice care. More

I recently visited the house of marbles with my daugher and was very impressed. It's such an unusual attraction and free to get in! Whilst there have a look at the pottery museum and spend some time watching the glass maker at work, facinating. More

Like most of your other reviewers I enjoyed the marble runs immensely, but there is also a museum of Devon pottery that any devotee of the Antiques Roadshow would find very informative. Some of the glass bowls and paperweights made on the premises are beautiful and reasonably priced. This is a free attraction, you can't loose! More

Was looking for something to entertain my 3- and 5- year olds without incurring £20-odd in entrance fees. They were absolutely enthralled with the marble runs, especially the giant snooker ball run. Glass-blowing was interesting, and there is a room with a history of toys and games. Retail area is large with lovely glassware, loads of traditional toys and games... More
