The tour was 90 minutes of really interesting places and absorbing information. Despite continuous, freezing rain our guide, Barbara, showed us the past life behind the city & it's churches with extensive knowledge, charm & humour. Because of the weather I only did the one tour but it made my day. I will be returning just to do more of... More

For a free service, the quality of the guide was very good. We took the 'Introducing Exeter' tour which was around 1 hour. There was a brief history of the city from the earliest dwellers to medieval times to German bombings which wiped out large parts of the city. The guide also used sketches and pictures from a folder to... More

I am an exeter resident and have been on a few of these tours with other locals as well as visiting friends. The guides are so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The information is interesting and well presented and I always come away knowing new facts about a city I have known and lived in for many years. I look forward to... More

I have always loved joining walking tours so I can understand more all the stuff I visit. Really informative and interesting. And there are some places you are allowed to visit only when you are with the tour. I chose 4 tours and they were all fantastic. Probably would have gone for more if I had had time. And to... More

It was a very wet, cold day but we hardly noticed the conditions as our guide made the 90-minute tour so interesting. There are different tours every day and I would really recommend them. I would like to go on the Exe river trip next. All trips are free. A tremendous service! More

Just four of us with our guide on a beautiful but cold January day. Brilliant tour which took around 2 hours. I have lived in Exeter for 4 years but saw places I did not realise existed. The tour included a visit to 21 Mint and several of the churches in the area. Informative guide who was good fun and... More

Probably the best way of learning the history of the city you live in. By far the best and most interesting in my opinion, if not just to see the look on some peoples faces, is the Halloween Tour of Ghosts and Legends on 31st October each year. Have done this on several occasions It's an evening tour of course... More

This was the second time I joined the guide. The first time was in July 2010, and it was great fun and just as educational. Like the first time, the guides were friendly and offered credible answers to any questions that came up. They were great story tellers. If you are in Exeter and want to find out more about... More

I live in Exeter but decided to take my little brother who was visiting from the US on a Redcoat tour to pass an afternoon. We decided on the Church and Catacomb Tour which takes place at 2pm on a Friday afternoon from the Cathedral green. It was a horrible day with heavy rain but decided to brave the elements... More
